Thank you in advance. I hope you can help even with all of the responses you received. I am looking for information on my GGGgrandfather Calvin Carter. The only information I have is that he was married to Sarah (Sally Hunnel) and that they were living in Smyth County, VA at least as early as 1842. My GGgrandfather was born in May 1842 in Smyth County. I think Calvin must have died sometime between 1847 and 1850. The 1850 Census shows Sally living with her three children, William (b. 1842) Emaline (b 1845) and Adaline (b. 1847) but no Calvin. As I said any help would be appreciated.
