Jim, I see you have been looking for this info for several years. Did you come up with anything on the surname Braun?

I looked at Google Books and found a title "Shenandoah Valley Pioneers and Their Descendants: A History of Frederick County, VA" by Cartmell. There was mention of a Jacob Braun, who was one of the founders (1764) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the county. All the founders listed lived in Winchester, VA.

On WorldConnect someone has entered George and his wife and says she was born in Frederick Co., so it seems reasonable that he was born there also.
