I'm still looking for the parents of Sophia Hendry (b. 1804 GA), George W. Hendry (b. 1810 GA) and Thomas G. M. Hendry (b. 1814 AL). Family stories say that their father was from Virginia and married a woman named Paine, who had a beautiful singing voice, so beautiful that she wanted to go into the theater. Her family would not permit it. Hendry and Paine married and traveled to Georgia where two of their children were born. The three children moved into Baldwin County, AL by 1828 where Sophia married John Overton. Thomas and George continued to live in the area as well. I believe that they served in the Indian wars. I will appreciate hearing from anyone who has clues about this family. I have not discovered any evidence of their parents in Baldwin County, AL.
