Carol, Thank you so much for your assistance. I had not previously found the 1850 census information and that really helped in narrowing down death dates for Allen Jr and Elvey (or Elvy? or Elvoy?). I still have not been able to find evidence to link Allen Jr, Bartlett and Edmund Tyler. I think they are most likely brothers, but that is only a guess. I have to hand it to Regina, dau of Bartlett, both parents died young and apparently she stepped in to raise three siblings 16 and younger, a Tyler niece,10-12 yrs old, a Kersey niece (?), age 12, that the census lists as "a born idiot" (Not so politically correct in those days!)and a Kersey nephew (?), age 5. Just a guess as to where the Kersey kids came from. Her mother's brother Joab Kersey and his wife Harriett both died fairly young, so possibly they left a minor child. It's quite possible they were deceased before the 5 yr was born, but they had a son Delaware who died very young, about 20 yrs. Maybe the 5 yr old was his.

Again, thanks so much!
(The photos for Allen, Sr. posted on, are mine.)
