In most cases if a person is listed a Mulatto, one parent is White and the other is Black, that usally it's the father and mother in that order, that is what I need to find out. Also, it is a 50-50 chance that the children are list Mullato because the mother is listed that way, I have found that to be the case in most of my reaseach. I am aware of the issue with the census of the 1850's I was just hoping that someone, somewhere had done previous reseach on this family and had information out there for me and I wanted to give as much information as I had. I am also aware and certain that Catherine was born into slavery.
