Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Highland HomePage History/Genealogy Site has moved
Posted by: Dan Mohn (ID *****6873) Date: October 31, 2012 at 13:41:44

Many Letcher County researchers have utilized my Highland HomePage website, focusing on the pioneer families that settled in eastern Kentucky, southwest Virginia, and neighboring portions of Tennessee West Virginia and North Carolina. If you are one of those who have previously used the site I hope you found my site of value in your own family research.

This email is to alert you to the "relocation" and redesign of the site. I have chosen to move it in order to provide for much more interaction and collaboration among visitors -- with a blog, comment sections, document repository, etc.

If you are still interested in the history and genealogies of this region, please visit the new site at
