Jens(b.1840) and Caroline(Schroll) Hansen(b.1840) came to the US in 1889 on "State of Pennsylvania" with two of their children, Emma Katrina and Valdemar(b.1873). They were from Nakskov(Lolland)parish, Maribo Denmark. The destination given was Nashville. Their was another daughter, Sophia Matilda(b.1865), that was refused entrance to the US b/c she was sick and died on the voyage back. Three other children came also: Hans Christian in 1881, Carl Vilhelm in 1886 and Carl Simeon/Simmon in 1892.

My gg grandmother Emma Katrina Hansen(b.1879/80) married Horace Hickman Bell and raised a large family in Coffee Co. TN.

My gg uncle Carl Simeon/Simmon Hansen(b.1869/70) lived in Evansville, IN and was said to have commited suicide by jumping in the Ohio River. He married Virginia"Jennie" Cook/Koch and had 5 kids: Ophelia, Roy, Helen Caroline, Carl and Henry.

Hans Christian"Uncle Chris"(b.1862) and Carl Vilhelm"Uncle Will"(b.1867) never married. The owned a casket making company in Coffee Co. TN

I'm still looking for Valdemar Hansen. The story was he moved North and changed his name.
