MONROE FAMILY OF WESTMORELAND, CO, VA

Hello, I'm very new to doing geneaology,so please bare with me.
I am looking for information on William Monroe,Jr. born about 1692, died about 1775. He was married to Rachael Piper daughter of John Piper and is mentioned in John Piper's will which was proved in Westmoreland Co, Va in Sept. 1759.
I am trying to find out the names of all his children. He is supposed to have had a son name Daniel. I'm hoping this is true as Daniel, Sr who was born in 1758, the same year as President James Monroe. They were cousins. Daniel would be my 4th great-grandfather. And William my 5th great grandfather.
I know that William was also married first to a Margaret Triplett in about 1715. Some say he married Rachael in 1730, others 1749.
Daniel was in the Revolutionary War and fought with Washington at Valley Forge. They later moved to Kentucky along with people like a Judge Thorp who mentions Daniel was related to President Monroe in his letters where were serialized in a newspaper.
I've been invited to join the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century and have to have proven documentation dating back to 1701. As you can suppose, this is very hard. So many records have been burned.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeanie Attenhofer
