My Sandidges lived in the Lynchburg area. My great-grandmother was Ella Dillard, the 2nd wife of Edgar Lee Sandidge. She was born in 1866 or '69. Don't know when she died, but I know she was still living in 1951, because I have a Christmas photo of her sent to her granddaughter, my Aunt Barbara.
I am descended from her son Melvin Dillard Sandidge, who married Ruth Esther Hynson of Delaware. My dad is Melvin D., Jr. He and his two sisters, Barbara and Mary, are all still living and in their 80s.
Looking to know more about Ella's family, and I can provide a little bit of info about the Sandidges.
