- Local Brevities -
Mr. John Hartman and family left for Wyandotte, Kansas, Friday last. We wish them success in their new home. They are clever, good people.

- Other -
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. A. Russell, of Romney, W. Va., returned home yesterday after a pleasant visit to their daughter, Mrs. A. C. Hack(?).

- State Items -
William Finchum, who confessed the murder of his brother, Preston Finchum, has been sentenced to be hung on the 16th of December.

Wm. Finchom, confined in the Rockingham county jail, under sentence of death for murdering his brother Preston Finchon, has confessed the crime.

- Married -
On the 18th instant, at the bride's father, in Hampshire county, West Va., by Rev. J. W. Walkup, Elihu C. Fletcher of Parishville, Va., to Miss Martha A. Oates.

Supt. of the Alms House, M. H. Albin, carried on Saturday Sarah Lydia Spencer, the little incendiary colored girl, to the Colored Asylum, for destitute women and children, at Washington. The place was secured for her through the interposition of a charitable lady in this city.
