I know that this will probably be an impossible question to answer, but I'm taking a stab in the dark anyway,. Back in 1945, toward the end of WW2, my parents, brother and I, were living in Arlington, for the duration of the war. My dad was a civilan employee at the Pentagon(so I'm told) and I think he worked in the Navy dep?. His name was Arvo A Nelson, some of his friends called him "AL" Anyway we had this cute little house that dad had rented for us. I don't remember much about it, except that the back screen porch was useless since it had a lot of holes in the screen,. Dad planted a veg garden, the wild rabbits took good care to be sure we never had any carrotts etc. What I'd like to know is, this house was on what was back then a family neighborhood street with similar homes. I do remember there was a country store within walking distance(probably a few miles) and I do remember walking into DC, I think over the Patomic, but I was only 4-5 at the time. If at all possible I would like (1) to find the name of that street, and the address of the house we lived in. (2) there was a girl my age living diagnolly across the street, we became friends, and I think her name was Kathy, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know how I can find out any of the answers to this, since we weren't there when phone directories were publish for 45. Does (wishful thinking)this sound at all familiar to anyone? Not holding out a whole lot of hope, but my sister asked me about this one day and since she hadn't yet been born, I would like to pass on this to her. Our parents, and brother are deceased so can't ask dad or mom. Thank you. Barb Notify Administrator about this message?
