Richard Marsh's will written 2-9-1793, probated
7-8-1793 Northumberland Co. VA, no wife mentioned.
Son: Richard, Cudberth, Alexander, Edward, daug.
Susannah. Cudberth & Edward Marsh, executors.
Spencer Marsh was witness.
I am descended from Robert Marsh b. 1799 VA md.
1825 in Blount Co., AL to Nancy Caldwell, also
born in VA. Their sons' names were William Wesley
(my line), Robert LINDSAY, GRIFFIN, and JOHN N.
I have been unable to connect Robert to anyone.
There appear to be no siblings in the area or
anything.
Then one day I came across the following:
Gideon Marsh will written 8-12-1796, probated
12-9-1811 Northumberland Co., VA. No wife men-
tioned. Children listed were Gideon Hammons Marsh,
John Glover Marsh, LANZEY Denny Marsh, GRIFFIN
Marsh, BOBBY Marsh, and Betsey Marsh.
Families usually carried similar names within the
family and this is the only place I've found names
that match mine.
Can you shed any light on these families? Would
appreciate your thoughts on the matter.
