Boardwine Waters 18th century

Boardwine Waters was born in Prince William Co. VA probably in the 1740s. His father was Philemon Waters II. With several of his siblings, he migrated to South Carolina before the Revolution. Prior to the time he left VA, however, his name appears in court documents in Pittsylvania Co. VA as defendant in several lawsuits for debt. I have found no record of his owning land in Pittsylvania Co. Has anyone seen his name in records of other Virginia counties? In SC, his name (or that of his namesake son) is sometimes spelled "Bordwine" or "Bordywine." One book shows his mother's maiden name as Bordroyne but I have found nothing else with this spelling.

I would be very grateful to anyone who has seen (or sees) any reference to this man and shares that information with me.

Anne Westbrook
