BRAXTON CARTER/ROBERT CARTER DNA MATCH
Posted by: Vic Carter (ID *****8732) Date: August 26, 2005 at 10:22:47

In the Carter-cousins.org website for DNA matches, the 2 men listed above have similar DNA and unique in being one of the few with an R1a Haplograph indicating a common ancestor. Robert Carter married A Martha Patton<(?) and had sons Gibson, R0bert Gibson Jr., Mansfield, Britton. They apparently originated in Virginia, went to Halifax, NV to Green County, KY and on to Menard (Cass) county, IL. There are a number of
Braxton Carters and we have been unable to ascertain who a common ancestor may be. Robert was born circa 1794. It is believed he may be associated with a Joseph Carter and/or a William CArter.
Any help would be appreciated. Please respond to Vic Carter at MARVIC57@CS.COM. It is believed this family has a Scotch/Irish background.
