Clifton Reynolds and Birdie Foster Reynolds

Hello,
I am just beginning to put together the pieces of my family's genealogy. There has been much work done by others on my mother's side of the family but none of my close relatives have kept up with the Reynolds' side.
Here's what I know and if you recognize a connection of anykind I would appreciate hearing from you.

My father is James Raymond Reynolds born in 1929 and he has 2 sisters who were Reynolds: Dorothy and Elizabeth (Betty) and one brother James Monroe Reynolds, Jr.
***********
Grandfather: James Monroe Reynolds was born in Monroe County, West Virginia. They moved to Virginia when he was a child. My father said that they lived on an adjacent farm to the Godfrey family (Arthur Godfrey who was later a radio personality) and that my grandfather and Arthur Godfrey grew up together as good friends.

**********
Great granparents: C.C. Reynolds who went by Clifton and Birdie (<-- not sure of spelling) Foster Reynolds.
Clifton had a brother named Joe or Joseph.

*******************
That's what I know at this time: My father was born in Virginia and lived very close to Washington D.C. He remembers playing at the Lincoln Memorial when he was a child, even sitting in Lincoln's lap at the memorial.
He has mentioned Aldi and Middlesburg, VA but I have not been able to determine anything specific from the local records I have searched online.

I thank anyone in advance for responding if you recognize these names or location, etc or for specific advice on those locations. Thank you.
