esearching Modesitts, Byrnes, Bartlett, Thompson, Weaver, Simmons, Elliott, Arnold
BARTLETT/MODESITT CONNECTION
Looking for ancestors,descendants and history of great great great grandfather James Modesitt born 1787 in Virginia. who married Lucy Marye around 1815 in Page Co. VA.
I just found from LDS FamilySearch that James Modesitt's,(b. 1787), parents were
Charles Modesitt b. in Prince William Co., VA and Francis Byrnes b. either in Loudoun Co., VA or Prince William Co. VA. abt. 1753.
Charles' parents were Brooks Modesitt and Sarah Bartlett
Frances' parents were James Byrnes and Catheryn UNKNOWN
THIS IS ALL I KNOW AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE THE BARTLETTS, MODESITTS, AND BYRNES CAME FROM, ETC.
My great great grandfather was James William Modisette (or Modesitt), born 1817 who married Louisa Jane Thompson born 1821. Their daughter, Ella Modesitt b. 1850 , married Lewis McHenry Weaver b. 1846 (parents James William Weaver and Christina A. Simmons)
Ella and Lewis married on Nov. 17, 1872 in Luray, VA. They are my grandparents.
Ella had a brother James W. Modesitt. who married Katie Lankford and I have to be careful in my research to get the correct James W. Modesitt.
Ella and Lewis Weaver had 3 children Robert Lewis Weaver ,Eugene Robert Weaver, and Annie Louise Weaver, my grandmother. Ella Modesitt Weaver died abt 1888 and her husband Lewis McHenry Weaver died abt 1890 so grandmother was brought up by the Groves (Dr. Birnam Grove, wife Bessie??) in the Luray area.
Grandmother married George Harmon Elliott (parents John Stephenson Elliott and Roberta V. Arnold).
Any info or leads greatly appreciated.
