I am looking for information on the George Lewis Payne family that lived in Culpeper County during the mid to late 1800's in what was then Amisville. What I need to know is the connection to Dolly Payne Madison. What brother of Dolly did this family descend from? Who was the father of George? My mother says we are related to Dolly Madison, but George Lewis Payne is as far as I can get. He married a Mary Ann Ball, who died on 10-09-1869. I don't have any other dates. The children were Frank, Ewell, Sissy and Marion. I really appreciate any information. Thanks so much.
