STEARS, 1776-1820+, Spotsylvania County

I would like to correspond with anyone researching this surname in Spotsylvania County.

My ancestor William McCloud had a wife named Elizabeth. His will (probated 1820 in Spotsylvania) indicates that the surname Stears was associated with his wife's family, but does not say directly that that was his wife's maiden name. However, the will of an Abel Stears, probated 1776 in the same county, refers to a grand-daughter Elizabeth, daughter of William Stears.

I would like to find proof that Elizabeth, wife of my William McCloud, was a Stears.
