I am wondering if William Patterson died in Mecklenburg, VA.
Because his second wife, Mary Patterson was there in 1880.
Also in her household at Christiansville in 1880 was Sarah Patterson age 25 and William Patterson age 21. (These two were born before William (born 1812) Patterson married
Mrs. Mary Jane Young Ramsey (widow). So they would actually be her step children.
Also in this house hold were Robert L. Patterson age 15 and Thomas Patterson age 13, William's children by his second wife, Mary Jane.
This family seems to have moved around a lot with mention of Guernsey County, OH; Mecklenburg County, VA, and Richland County, OH, as their places of residence.
In 1900, Mary Jane Patterson is back in Richland County, OH. Living with her were Step-daughter, Sadie Patterson, born July 1856, and Edith Patterson born May 1877, VA.
According to the Richland County, GenWeb, Mary Jane Patterson was named guardian of Edith, minor child of James J. Patterson. So is James also one of the 1812 William's children?
FamilySearch has a Christening record for Eliza E. Patterson, born May 19, 1877, in Christiansville, Mecklenburg County, VA.Her parents were S. J. and A. B.
Patterson. Were they related to the 1812 William Patterson or relatives?
