It looks like you are a very distant relative of my husband. He is a descendent of Sarah Ann Holmes and John McGowan. Sarah's father was William Holmes, your Isaac Holmes' brother.

Family records I possess state that John McGowan married Sarah Ann, daughter of William and Sarah Holmes, born Dec 16 1790. I have a listing of their children.

My records go into detail on the McGowan side, but I don't have much on the Holmes side. Please let me know if you know anything else about Samuel and Ann Holmes or their ancestors. Also let me know what lead you to believe that the will you found on William Holmes is the same William Holmes that is Isaac's brother. The William Holmes you cited was born 1734/35. I have his daughter, Sarah Ann, as being born in Dec of 1790. This is possible, but that makes him a pretty old father.

Any more info would be appreciated.
