Hi Don,

I am most appreciative for the marriage records! A few I did have, but needed the rest of them. THANKS!

I am a direct descendant of Rev Balaam Ezell Sr b1756 VA d. 1844 Trigg Co, KY, ARW Soldier pensioned in Trigg Co, KY. Married three times but 2nd to Elizabeth HAMBLIN [see marriage record] who had first married John MAYES who died and left a 1801 WILL in Mecklenburg Co, VA [you may see the will online/Mecklenburg VAGENWEB]

My ancestor was Thomas HAMBLIN who m. first Elizabeth SEAT in VA, she being daughter of Josiah Seat [his WILL, June 20, 1760 VA]They are all my ancestor's. Thomas HAMBLIN left a 1811 WILL Mecklenburg Co, VA. He had married [see marriage record] 2nd to: JEAN/Jane, widow of Benedict CHILDRESS who had died 1794 Charlotte Co, VA [left Inventory 1794/5]they had five children.

JANE/Jean CHILDRESS HAMBLIN did not have issue with Thomas HAMBLIN. On the HAMBLIN 1811 all of his children are listed and his grandchildren such as Elizabeth HAMBLIN MAYES who m. 2nd my ancestor, Rev Balaam Ezell SR. Elizabeth died 1829 Trigg Co, KY. They had children plus her 5 children by John Mayes. One of the children of Rev Ezell and Elizabeth was Zelphia EZELL who married Thomas Childress, son of William, son of Benedict CHILDRESS and JANE Childress who married 2nd Thomas HAMBLIN.

The line of Ezells [Balaam and his brothers] stem from Thomas EZELL b1715 m. 1740c VA to Ann ROSE. [my ancestor's]

Let me know who you might need info on, will be glad to help if I can. Thanks again!

MaryJean [Childress Voegtlin]
