this was posted on the foote and marable forums but would also like to post on the lunenburg co, va forum also.
my research indicates that my william harris, sr married ca 1746 lunenburg co, va frances goode, daughter of my mackerness goode, sr, son of my samuel goode, who died 1734 henrico co, va.
we are participating in the harris dna project and at 69 markers, we are a match with those who descend, per the info, from our captain thomas harris 1611 of jamestown and his son, our major william harris of henrico co, va.
however, i am still trying to learn more about my william harris, sr/ frances goode of lunenburg co, va and who his father was?
per the lunenburg co, va records, my william harris, sr/ frances goode had an agreement with william marable there in lunenburg co, va in 1746/ 1747.
as indicated, my william harris, sr/ frances goode, as a young man and before he began to acquire his own land had an agreement with william marable re his plantation, finneywood, there in lunenburg co, va.
a suit followed re my william harris, sr/ frances goode and william marable and my mackerness goode, sr and other of my goode family gave depositions re this suit.
as also indicated, per this info, a copy of this agreement re my william harris, sr/ frances goode and william marable had been left with this mrs fute/ foote at james town.
can anyone on the foote forum identify who this mrs foote would have been at james town and who she was married to?
