Does anyone have ANY information about James Hungerford who was born between 1750-1755, died in Franklin, (Williamson County) TN in July 21, 1828. Between 1753 and 1772 he is completely lost to us. We are trying to tie him in with other Hungerfords. We have traced him to Lunenburg, VA. Between 1776 & 1778 he was a Revolutionary War soldier. We need to know the names of his parents so we can go forward with our genealogy research. He is a direct line for me.
I have a copy of the REVOLUTIONARY WAR PENSION APPLICATION FILE #S38856 issued in Tennessee for James Hungerford. Earlier findings are from Lunenburg, VA with James Hungerford paying tithes. During this early period he is always linked with Isham Hungerford. I canít find Isham anywhere. He may have been killed in the Revolutionary War. George Hungerford and Eleanor (Elinor, Eliner, Elinore) Hungerford are other Hungerfords around James, but Iím unsure of the relationship. George was a sexton at three different churches (Bethel Church, Flatrock Church, Reedy Creek Church). James Hungerford married Elizabeth Landrum (Essex cty) abt. 1790. No marriage records were found. Their first child (Richard Charles Hungerford) was born in Lunenburg, VA. in 1792 and married in New York, NY Richard Hungerford was a veteran of the War of 1812.
James Hungerford and Elizabeth Landrum had six children:
Richard Hungerford (b. 1792, d. 2-23-1853)
Daughter Hungerford (b. abt. 1793)
William L. Hungerford (b. 1796 - )
Cullen Hungerford (b. abt. 1800 - )
Daughter Hungerford (b. 1801 - )
James Hungerford, Jr.
Does ANYONE have any information about Isham Hungerford, George & Elinor Hungerford from Lunenburg, VA?
