Merryman's in County in late 1840's

Legend has it that Betsy Cook was born about 1780-90 in Bledsoe Co., TN and she died there, too about 1818-19. But Beldsoe Co., was not created until about 1800. Also, some are calling her Elizabeth as being her given name and Betsy as her nickname.

There were several Cook families wherever Charles parents and grandparents were living before being in Bledsoe Co. Before Bledsoe Charles Merryman was b in Granville Co., NC. Before then the family was in Lunenburg, VA, before then in Baltimore Co., MD and Lancaster Co., VA and England.

Have you found these Cook familes in TN? The Merryman families went to Stewart and maybe Montgomery Counties in TN before going to Montgomery, Bond, & Fayette Counties in IL. They were in IL by the early to mid 1820's.

If you have more to share I would love to hear from you. My email address is .

Thank you,
