Will of Margaret "Peggy" Marks HUMPHREY, Loudoun VA
Posted by: Denise Oliver-Velez (ID *****1834) Date: June 05, 2002 at 17:19:06
  of 1800

I have posted a copy of the will of Margaret "Peggy" Marks Humphrey to my website - it is the will freeing my great grandfather Presley ROBERTS, giving him 100 dollars and a years wages, which enabled him to purchase our family land in Snickersville (now Bluemont).

I have also posted a copy of a page of the estate account - in 1866, he is paid a small legacy from her will.

In the will Margaret makes references to her brother's Mason, Abel, Watts and Samuel; her sisters Mary PEUGH, Lydia HESSER and deceased sister Elizabeth WARFORD; her nieces; Margaret CLAGETT, Margaret HESSER, Sarah Ann HESSER and Rebecca SCOTT.

Many thanks for the assistance I received from MARKS and HUMPHREY family members, and to the staff at the Balch library for making this discovery possible.

Denise
