The previous message suggests that William Powell, Corporal, Madison's Company, 12 Infantry Regiment (US Army Regulars)may have died in 1830-31. Further investigation at the National Archives has revealed that he died in October 1813 at Forty Mile Creek, Genesee, NY (Now Ontario, Canada). If anyone can help determine where he might be buried, it would be greatly appreciated. The military records do not indicate place of burial. It was also determined that Colvin had an older brother Leven Powell, b. 1807 in either MD or VA and a younger sister Mary Ann. After their father died, the family moved to Belmont County, OH where Leven married Mahala Whaley and had several children including Alfred H.Powell, who is buried next to Leven at St. Clairsville Methodist Episcopal Church, Belmont County, OH. Anyone connected to any of these lines of the Powell family is invited to contact me. Thanks.
