Grider/Gryder Family
Posted by: Ray Gryder, II Date: March 02, 2001 at 09:44:56

Looking for anyone knowledgable of Loudoun Co., VA history who may know something concerning the GRIDER/GRYDER family that came to Loudoun most likely from PA. Jacob Grider/Gryder (m. Elizabeth Repatoe) and brother Valentine Grider/Gryder (m. Nancy Page and m. Mary Fugate) both claimed in the Rev. War pension info to have been born in the county in the early 1760's. I have never seen any other documentation concerning any GRIDER/GRYDERs connected to the county. They were most likely in Burke Co., NC area by 1770. They had another brother that Valentine mentions in his pension application: Cornelius Grider/Gryder. Any info on the name and the connection to the county would be great to obtain. I am doing a book on this family. The possible son of Cornelius: Conrad Grider was my ggggg grandfather. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray Gryder, II
