They came from Cecil Co MD. There were several early "Northern Neck Land Grants" by Thomas and Thomas Jr, and Jane Johns. I believe that was the source for the Cecil Co MD location information.

The 1769 will is for Thomas Jr, and most of the children are under age. His father's will is Bk A, p 289 written 1770, proven 1770. It names dau Rachel Renolds, of Carolina, Samuel Harris as son-in-law, dau Mary Harris, wife of Samuel, dau Jane Cox of Carolina, dau Hannah Mathews of Maryland.

Jane married Harmon Cox and went to the Cane Creek MM, in now Alamance Co NC. I have her family, as Harmon is a brother of my ancestor, but know little of her other siblings. Harmon's mother was also from Cecil Co MD.

Evelyn
