I found a 1812 pension request record for my 4xgreat grandfather via his widow Margaret Burgess. His name was William Burgess. Apparentally, there is a connection to John W. Jefferson in Barbourville, Cable Co, Wva dated 1850's. In the letter a person named G or J W. Jefferson, dau or nephew of Henry Jefferson (wife is Elizabeth Bushby) called Maragret Burgess "Dear Aunt" and said her brother (if I read the letter correctly)is Henry. Is this Margaret Burgess a former Miss Margaret Jefferson, or are the Jefferson's related to her late husband Wm. Burgess.
