David Lewis Beall, father of Edwin C. Beall, was a brother to my gg-grandmother Mary Catherine Elizabeth (Beall) Shoemaker. Her daughter kept a Shoemaker family record book that has some Beall family info. According to my copy, David Lewis Beall had five children:

Samantha Beall b. 16 Feb 1839, VA (twin); d. 29 Dec 1912, VA
married 17 June 1858 to Elisha H. Cockerill
eight children: Minnie B., Alberta, Edger, Lewis B., George F., Hattie, John T., Joseph G.

Aletha Beall b. 16 Feb 1839 (twin); d. 17 Oct 1906 "Dakota"
married May 1865 to William H. H. Holmes
eight children: Milton B., Hattie, Edwin, Emiline, Henry H., Frank, Willie, Ernest.

Emma Ann Beall b. 12 Jul 1841, VA; died 26 Feb 1810, OH

Edwin Beall b. 5 July 1847, VA; d. 22 Feb 1886, TN
married 8 Sep 1868, Loudoun Co, VA to Amanda Tavener
three children: Annie L., Harry C., & Lott L.

The family record I have does have Harry C. Beall marrying Miss Tavener ... with a big question mark. Looks like my branch of the family might have lost contact with yours - would be interested in filling in blanks on both sides & confirming dates & spellings (my records are handwritten & have been copied by hand at least once).
