Benjamin DAvis of Loudoun Co., VA

"Benjamin, Hannah and Abel Davis, his son" obtained a lifetime Farifax lease on 100 acres of land in Loudoun Co on 8 Sept. 1761. Abel is said to have been born about 1738 and had reached majority by 1761. Abel AKA Abel Ischabald Davis, m. Catherine Brown. They were the parents of several sons including Gideon Davis [1780-1866] who gained a degree of fame for his invention of an inproved PLOW.

Benjamin Davis my elusive ancestor m. Mrs. Hannah Davis who remains otherwise unidentified. Benjamin d. before 10 May 1803 in Loudoun Co. A Benjamin Davis of Loudoun Co. had an indentured servant, John Arter who confessed to the murder of Thomas England in Philadelphia. Read about Arter
