Searching for info, mid 1700's (Winsell, Winsel, Wincel, Wentzel Vincel, Vencil)

If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
I am researching my family history and I have traced it back to Loudoun County. My GGG Grandfather Adam Winsell was born in Loudoun County in 1781. I am having trouble tracing my roots past this point.
I have recently figured out that at this time there were variations of our surname (Winsell, Winsel, Wincel, Wentzel Vincel, Vencil etc.) and thatís added to my confusion.
I think Adams father may have also been named Adam and itís possible that he might have been a Captain in the revolutionary war in 1777.
I have also uncovered a Johan Adam Wentzel (Vencil Vincel) that had a son named Adam around 1750 in Loudoun County. Possibly Adam Sr.?
Any information regarding my relatives from this era would welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help, Jeff Winsell
