From Copeland's Scrapbook #17, page 171 held at Balch Library:
[The Enterprise, July 18, 1919] Hillsboro, Va July 16 - Mr. S. A. Arthur, whose illness was noted in the last issue of The Enterprise, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Gaver, near Harper's Ferry, on Saturday night. Mr. Arthur was in his 87th year, and was married 62 years ago to Miss Annie Picking, of Maryland, who survives him, with two sons and two daughters, as follows: Mrs. Chas. Gaver, of Harper's Ferry; Mrs. E. T. Adams, of Leesburg; Mr. Harvey K. Arthur, of Paeonian Springs, and Charles Arthur, of near Washington, D. C. Mr. Arthur was a member of the Evangelical Reform Church, having embraced that faith when he was a child. Funeral services were held from the home on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Mr. Snedegar, and his remains were laid to rest in Leesburg cemetery.

Mr. S. A. ARTHUR died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. GAVER, near Harpers Ferry, on Saturday night. In his 87th year. Survived by his widow to whom he was married for 62 years, and 2 daughters, Mrs. Chas. GAVER, of Harpers Ferry and Mrs. E. T. ADAMS, of Leesburg, and two sons, Mr. Harvey K. ARTHUR of Paeonian Springs, and Chas. ARTHUR of near Washington. Member of Evangelical Reformed Church. Burial in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, on Tuesday.
