William Matthews, 25y, single, b. Pr Wm resides Loudoun, farmer, s/o Moses & Lucinda m. 18 Oct 1866 to Martha C. Ayres, 23y, single, b. and resides Loudoun, d/o Charles & Mary Jane Ayres

William Matthew, 46y widower, b. Pr Wm resides Loudoun, farmer, s/o Moses & Lucinda m. 8 Nov 1888 to Ida Harper, 30y, widow, b. and resides Loudoun, d/o James & Mary Harper

No children of William and Martha or William and Ida appear on the Loudoun Marriage Register up to 1936.

MATHEW, Leah, WF, 15 Jan 1887, Ldn, William Mathew, laborer, Ldn, Martha Mathew, I-William Mathew, father

Obituary:
[8 Aug 1920] Mrs. Ida Matthews of Hagerstown died very suddenly on Sunday last while on a visit to her son, at Bethel this county, Mrs. Matthews was sixty-five years of age. From Goldie E. Maffett scrapbook 2, page 128.

An Ida Matthews is buried at Bethel Cemetery. No tombstone in the Balch database for Martha or William. No will or other estate account for William in Loudoun up to 1946.
