That explanation definitely helps.

Not sure what you mean by "part of Loudoun that was at one time Fairfax". All of Loudoun was originally in Fairfax. Other than a slight border change in the 1790's, the boundaries have remained pretty much the same.

Since there are plenty of Halleys and Hutchisons in Fairfax County during this time, this could be difficult to solve. If it especially confusing with so many Halleys in Fairfax County. You might want to post to the Fairfax lists too.
