Edward GLEESON was a purchaser at the 18 Mar 1801 estate sale of Andrew Lane. No doubt Edward lived in the same area. [Will Book F, page 266]
I just noticed, in checking entries for Thomas McIntosh, the following:
1787A Second Battalion McIntosh, Thomas and (Obryan, Jas.) (S) and (Cleson, Edward) (S)
Note that the lists do not explain what the (S) stands for, but it could be (servant.) Taxable aged hired hands were usually listed with the head of household, at least in Loudoun County. In 1789 Thomas McIntosh had a Jno. Harrell living with him, again probably a hired hand.
