Hello: My family name is Allen and I am African American. My grandfather's sister, Bettie Allen married John D. Lane in 1867 in Loudoun Co. Va.; they are listed in the 1880 census in Mercer District with five children: Eve, John, Alice, Maggie and Harry. In 1930 Census, (Dranesville District) there is a Joseph and Bette Lane listed with daughters Annie and Elizabeth and one son Joseph, Jr. There is also a son, Harry listed with wife Loretta and sons Dallas and Lawrence Lane. Do any of these names sound familiar. If you need additional information, I can possible help because I have done quite a bit of research in Loudoun Co. Va. Please e-mail me at ettawillson@aol.com
