Hi Sheryl, I agree with you about the Godsey's being dropped in western Virginia. I am a desendant of the Godseys from Lee Co. Scott Co. Va. and Sullivan Co. Tn. but all Info that I have is the last 140 years. My great paternal grandfather was John Godsey(birth place unknown)born 3-16-1832 Died Watauga Tn 8-18-1925. Married Mary Etta Smith on 11-23-1879. Mary was born on 12 16-1860(birth place unknown) died Watauga Tn. Nov. 3 1918. Parents of either unknown, where they came from also unknown. 9 children were born but all are now deceased. please answer me back here my e-mail is down.Thanks .
