We have a picture (obviously professional photograph) of Rebecca (Clarkston) Bailey, four of her children, her cousin, F.M. Clarkston/Clark and another cousin, Anifee Clarkston (a gentleman, perhaps age 20-30).
Two (or more) people have suggested that this Anifee (in this picture) might be ALFY Clarkston, b. ca 1870 Harlan Co, KY; the son of William Otis and Martha (McKinney) Clarkston.
William Otis Clarkston was b. abt 1838 in Lee Co., VA, the s/o John and Sarah (McKinney) Clarkston of Lee Co, VA and later of Clover Fork, Harlan Co, KY.
Alfy apparently md and divorced 1st to an (as yet) unknown wife, then married 2nd to Ollie Hubbard. I do not show any children of either marriage, and his second marriage must have been rather short also, as Ollie (Hubbard) Clarkston md in 1907 to John Lawson. These marriages both happened in Wise Co, VA.
I am not at all convinced that Alfy F. Clarkston, b. ca 1870 in Harlan Co, KY (son of William Otis and Martha (McKinney) Clarkston) is the same person named Anifee in this picture.
This Anifee shows up in the 1900 Arkansas census in the household of Charles Bascom and Rebecca (Clarkston) Bailey and is listed as 'married' but no wife in sight.
This Anifee was certainly a handsome man ... could very well have been a lady killer. Sure would like to know for sure who this person is. Would be willing to share picture with anyone who is connected.
