Hi Carol,
My grandmother's name is Mae Elizabeth Gilbert. She was born January 19, 1918 in Mulberry Gap, Hancock Co, TN. Her father's name was Herbert Elbert Gilbert and her mother was Fannie Cornelious Lemons. They lived in Blue Hollow which sat on the state line of Hancock Co, TN and Lee Co, VA depending on the line at the time. At one time the line ran through the middle of the house. Herbert's father went by Jay. I am not sure of his name. Some say his name is Joel Gilbert married to Melinda Sue Clifton. My research based on other facts such as the names of his brothers leads me to believe his name is James Thurman Gilbert. However we do know we are related to Joseph Hiram Gilbert and his family. I have information on this line.
With my grandmother gravely ill I have cut back on my work but I would be interested in sharing what I have with you while I am here at home.
Vetty
