Carline, the wills and deeds cited and quoted in the books are available, as public records, in the counties where they were written. Many of them are available through Family History Centers, too. Some records in neighboring counties (such as Scott and Wise) may be viewed on line, for a fee. These books contain a lot of information, and it's only natural some errors would creep in. But, I doubt you will find a more accurate source for most of the information, other than the original records.
