Eliza Ella Cox Sprinkle Obituary
Posted by: Lea Head Date: August 29, 2000 at 17:55:47

I noted a fascinating article in the Greenville, Hunt Co, TX newspaper on this woman who died at age 107 on Aug 26, 2000 and felt compelled to share it with this forum. It states that she was the oldest living daughter of a Confederate Army soldier. She was born to Jefferson Prior and Sarah Jane Stapleton COX in West Fork, Ark. The family moved to Hunt Co, TX. J.P. Cox was one of 6 brothers from Lee Co, VA who served in the Confederate Army including Second Bull Run, Fredricksburg, and Gettysburg. Eliza m. Solon SPRINKLE in 1915. I noticed that there were Sprinkles in Lee Co. also. I'll be happy to provide more details from this article to anyone. It's actually a front page news story and full of interesting info. E-mail me directly if you want more.
