Murders (Crabtree, Bell) in Lee County

Does anyone have access to the book "Lee County, Virginia death register, 1853-1877" by E.M. Carpenter?

What I am looking for is added detail about a curiosity I ran across while checking the 1860 Lee County Virginia mortality schedule. In the list of deaths (covering the latter half of 1859 and first half of 1860), two men on the same page are listed as having been murdered in September [1859] - they were Richard D. Crabtree, aged 32, and John A. Bell, aged 26.

In my experience, one almost never runs into murders in the same month in the same locale without the deaths being connected somehow. So this mortality schedule report makes me wonder whether the county death register had anything more illuminating when it recorded the deaths of Mr. Crabtree and Mr. Bell?
