Hi C. J. The is quite a bit of information on the Hugh F. Smallwood family and his descendants. However, Emit L. Smallwood was found only listed as the grandson of Hugh in the 1900 and 1910 Lee Co., VA census records. Hugh Smallwood died in 1919 in Lee Co., VA. Emit was not found in the 1920 Lee Co., VA census, marriage records thru 1933 or Lee Co., VA cemetery records. In the 1900 LCV census Emet was listed as 9/12 yrs old, b. VA. In the 1910 LCV census he was lised as Emmet, 11 yrs. old, b. VA. Emit/etc was not found in any other Lee Co., VA records. An LDS search online, all states, Morman Archives did not find Emit or his parents. He was not listed in the SS INDEX. As far as I can tell from all the records, Emit's parents are unknown. Ed Cress, Lee Co., VA. genealogical researcher. e-mail address is: cressoakridge@aol.com
