George Ely of Lee county and Rev. war father Thomas

A repeat of a December posting I made which got no respon se.

I am most interested in trying to prove George Ely born 1777 was the son of Thomas Ely who died in the Rev. War from wounds at Hanging Rock. Bales in her book connects them as father and son but some sources, DAR and SAR, need more verification of this. The widow of Thomas and her children all moved to Lee county after the war. Does anyone have any ideas on this topic? Jim
