Hi Cindy. There are Smith, Smyth and Smythe families in the Early Settlers of Lee Co., Va. books, but no Alexander Smith, etc and Hannah Roman. No wills or deeds. In the 1840 Lee Co., Va Census was: Alexander Smith, b. ca.1770 -1780 and wife, b. ca. 1780 -1790, but no way to know if these are the ones your are seking. Doyo have more specific census records on Alexander and Hannah Smith, etc.? I did an LDS Family Search, online, VA on the 1840 census Alexander and Hannah Roman Smith, etc. There are a lot of Alexanders, and several Hannah Roman, but I could not find a connextion between them, Ed
