Hi Marcia. In the 1840 Lee Co., Va. census is John Grammer, b,1800 - 1810 and wife, b. 1800 - 1810. While this is not positive proof, it seems like the wife is Catherine Lambert, b. ca 1810, Wythe Co.,, Va.m dau./o Michael and Mary Lambert. (the 1840 census does not list the wife and children by name, only approx birth year range) They are also listed with 5 sons and one daughter) The fmily was not found in the 1850 Lee Co., VA census or any other Lee Co., VA. records. Ed Cress, Oak Ridge, Tn., Lee Co., VA. genealogist & Corresponding Secretary, Lee Co. Historical and Genealogical Society.
