Hi Dick. A thorough LDS Family Search online, Va did not find a marriage for Charles Carter and And Sarah Huston. As you know he was the first County Court Clerk of Lee Co.,Va in 1792, when Lee Co. was formed. In the 1814 Lee Co. Land Tax List he is listed with 492 Acres. Charle Carter was in the 1920 Lee Co., Va census wih wife and childres, but as you probably know names of wives and children are not listed in the 1920 census. On the LDS search I found: Charles Carte, b. before 1775, Farquier Co., VA. and died ca. 11 May 1821, Lee Co. Va. From there I have traced hisancesors back to William Carter, b, 1510 in England. If you would like this genealogy, plese e-mail me your postal mailing address. No charge. Ed Cress, Oak Ridge, Tn., Lee Co., VA. genealogist & Corresponding Secretary, Lee Co. Historical and Genealogical Society.
