Hello Ed - thanks a million for your volunteer effort. My son and I are planning a trip in March to Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee in order to visit all the courthouses. However ..... meanwhile ..... to save my sanity, can you find a marriage of a Charles Carter (proven as the first clerk/deputy sheriff of Russell AND then, Lee County - who was a son of Thomas) to a Sarah Huston, circa 1790?

If the marriage was in 1790 itself, then it would be in Scott County records? (Yeah, I know about the split up of Fincastle County, but I loose it in the details).

Just for cross-reference, there is a William Huston in the earlier Russell County Court Records in conjunction with our Carter. This is all about the Carter/Blackmore at Ft. Blackmore where the books have lots of errors!

Gratefull for any answer.

Richard C. "Dick" Zieman

PS Thought it would be more usefull to go public with the question and your answer.
