Hi Pam. In my 4 volumes of indexed Lee Co., Va. cemetery records, no James Ervin Gipson/Gibson was found. He was not found in the 1900 or 1920 Lee Co., Va. census records. In the 1910 Lee Co., VA. census, Rocky Station district was found: James E. (Ervin?) Gipson, 43 yrs, b. Tn, his 2nd wife, Cyntha, 32, b. Tn, children: John 9, b. Tn, Allie, 8, b. Va, Annie, y, b. Va. and Hettie 1, b. Va. (No way to know if this is the James Ervin Gipson you are seeking). An LDS Family Search online, VA, did not find him. It might be worthwhile to contact: The County Court Clerk, Scott Co. Courthouse, Gate City, VA 14251, to see if they could direct you to someone who can do cemetery searchs/records in Scott Co., VA.
